Move your body to the rhythm in this immersive new motion-based music game featuring Billboard top hits ‘Levitating’ and ‘Gira Gira’, now available worldwide

SAN JOSE, CALIF. (Sept. 15, 2022) — Nex, a leader in motion entertainment, today announced the global release of Starri, a heart-pounding motion-based rhythm game that can be enjoyed with just a smartphone or tablet, as well as laptops and PCs in the near future. Choose from an ever-expanding library of hit songs by artists across musical genres and get moving in two exciting modes – “Slash” and “Catch” – that are as much fun and social, as they are physical.

Starri is a revolutionary, immersive music motion experience reminiscent of console and VR titles in the genre, that can now be played on any mobile device, without a headset or additional sensors. Jump into the action anytime with just a smartphone or tablet with a front-facing camera. It's accessible and easy to use in any corner of your home. Play “Slash” mode and strike the oncoming notes according to the rhythm and dodge to avoid obstacles in a tunnel-like view; “Catch” mode will challenge you to hit every note precisely to the beat. With over 40 songs and a growing library, Starri offers a wide range of songs from Global Billboard Top Hits, Jpop, Mandopop, and Cantopop to Indie favorites. It’s easy for any player to find their groove. Sample song list at launch includes:

“Nex is tapping into the pure joy of activity and movement to build a powerful new interactive paradigm that anyone, anywhere can enjoy, and Starri is another exciting example of that vision,” said David Lee, co-founder and CEO of Nex. “The mission of the company is to reconnect humanity with the joy of movement by turning screen time into active play time, so while you may break a sweat playing Starri, you’re still playing a game and having fun doing it with your favorite musical artists.”

When playing, you’re not only rewarded with stars for unlocking more song content the harder you slash at the oncoming notes, the more calories are burned and players will see that at the end of every game. Join the Starri community and stay active and connected, or master your reflexes and take a place among the best players around the world on Starri’s leaderboards (coming in November).

Starri is the latest title in Nex’s lineup of immersive and accessible motion-based experiences. Also available now are Party Fowl, a social and off-the-wall collection of 20+ mini-games, from “Viking Volleyball” to “Cookie Catastrophe”, which surpassed 1 million plays from its release in May.  Another popular title is Active Arcade, a collection of motion arcade mini games with more than 3.6 million downloads to date. All the games are part of an expanding portfolio of Nex’s motion experiences, currently available on billions of camera-enabled consumer devices, such as iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.

Nex continues to develop and release premium, interactive content on mobile devices and to additional platforms such as smart TVs in the future. The company is excited by the limitless potential of motion-based experiences and has introduced an SDK, aptly named the Motion Developer Kit (MDK), to offer gamemakers, entertainers, storytellers, educators and more to get people moving and bring their own vision to life.

Starri is available for free download worldwide on Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store and is compatible with iPhone XS or after, iPads, Samsung Galaxy S21+ or after, and Samsung Tab S7. Additionally, Starri is available in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Japanese. For more information about Starri, please visit www.starrigame.com.
